Grounded NYC is a group practice devoted to incorporating social justice and a non-judgmental approach to affirming psychotherapy, where diagnoses are secondary to an individual's unique strengths, resilience, and self-determination. We aim to empower our clients to define and build on their life goals to feel more grounded in life.
Grounded NYC became a reality after one of our monthly supervision meetings, devoted to discussing the numerous obstacles, challenges, and collaboration that comes with clinical work. After meeting for a few months, our team began to explore the possibility of creating a private practice. Instead of branching off individually, we wanted to build on the foundations of collaboration, social justice, and a desire to feel more grounded together. It is with this perspective and ideology we formed our practice. Just as our relationships with one another formed the basis of solid clinical work, allowing us to feel more grounded in our work, we wanted to create a space for our clients to feel more grounded as they navigate the many systems and institutions in which we all live.
